ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has been doing the rounds on social media and if you haven't had a bucket or two of ice cold water poured over your head,  there is a huge chance that you're about to get nominated!

Last week, Bodybuilding Warehouse M.D, Kieran Fisher could hide no more, as the team nominated him for the Ice Bucket Challenge. Kieran took the nomination surprisingly well, so we thought we would push our luck and challenge him to do an extreme ALS ice bucket challenge with our very own protein twist!  Kieran isn't one to back down to a challenge, so he reluctantly agreed to have 10 buckets of ice cold water poured over his head followed by a batch of our very our protein! As icebucketchallengemuch as we enjoyed the prospect of throwing a bucket of water over the Boss, the challenge was also about raising funds and awareness for the ALS charity. Kieran pledged to donate all monies from the sales of Bodybuilding Warehouse Shakers from the day of his nomination, which was Friday 29th September 2014, to Sunday 31st September 2014.  Bodybuilding Warehouse customers got behind the fundraiser and we managed to raise a total of $906.63!  You don't want to miss the challenge... click here.

What is ALS?

ALS is the abbreviation of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, which is a progressive neuro degenerative disease affecting nerve cells within the brain and spinal cord. ALS causes the progressive decline of the motor neurons which reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles, which renders the brain unable to control and initiate muscle movement. People affected by ALS may become totally paralized in the later stages of the disease.
