Yesterday saw the unveiling of David Beckhams swimwear collection for retail giant H&M and most of the head lines screamed "David Beckham displays his buff body". One article described him as "hunky" and having an "impressive six pack".
Although Becks is clearly in shape, we couldn't see much of the "buff body" or "impressive six pack" that so many journalists swooned over. So we thought we would give the masses some examples of buff bodybuilding classes that might just have Becks lifting some serious iron during his next gym session.
The classic physique class is about body symmetry, balance and proportion. The picture on the right is the 2013 IFBB Classic Bodybuilding overall Champion Mahdi Zatparavar. Notice his wide shoulders and small waist with great muscle symmetry on his legs. In this category the muscles need to seamlessly flow and have aesthetic appeal.
Who is your all time favorite classic physique?
The Mens Physique Catagory
The men's physique category awards males whose physiques aren't too huge or dry but remain shapely and defined. The Men’s Physique category therefore aimed at men who prefer to develop a less muscular, yet athletic and aesthetically pleasing physique. Mark Anthony Wingson is pictured and was the first ever winner of this category at the 2013 Olympia weekend.
We couldn't discuss a "Buff Body" without mentioning Mr Olympia. The category for the best of the best! Phil Health is the current Mr Olympia after winning the most prestigious international bodybuilding competition in the world for a third time in 2013. Who is your greatest Mr Olympia?
