We all have fitness goals which we set ourselves and reaching them can feel like an uphill struggle at times. The bigger the goal, the harder it can be to reach and a little motivation along the way can make a massive difference. If you are currently working towards your own fitness goals, then take some motivation and tips from Nathan Kearneys body transformation! Nathan is an inspirational Bodybuilding Warehouse customer that managed to lose an incredible 39kg and drop 25% body fat in just under 12 months and it has clearly changed his life for the better.
Nathan was the type of kid that many of us can relate to; he was overweight, embarrassed, had zero confidence and didn’t enjoy sports. On Nathan’s 18th birthday he weighed 123kg and decided that it was time to make a change. Nathan was successful in achieving his goal and now has an amazing physique that any 19 year old would be proud of.
A key factor in Nathan's success was that he set his goal with determination and he also set a time frame. This gave him a clear target to work towards. He also found his motivation from within. Nathan pushed himself every day and was driven by the results he was getting; he saw that the end result was 100% achievable. The body does what the mind tells it to do, so believing that you can achieve your goal is vital!
Once you have the self-belief to go for what you want, you need to arm yourself with a good training plan, healthy nutrition and a supplement stack that will fuel results. To make sure you succeed there is one thing that you must do and that is BE CONSISTENT or as Nathan puts it take the first footstep and never stop going. If Nathan can diet, train and never miss a 6am cardio session or a meal in his first year of University, when everyone else is out partying and making new friends than anyone else can achieve their goals. Avoiding temptation can be difficult, but if you keep that all important end goal at the forefront of your mind, you will find the strength to not cheat yourself out of what you want the most. Every day Nathan would wake up and instantly think about his goal, what he was going to be training and prep his meals.
With an abundance of faddy diets around choosing one that works for you can be difficult. Like many bodybuilders, Nathan chose Carb-Cycling to shed fat and also added 1.5 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight to his diet. Carb cycling is a very effective method of weight loss and you can find out more about it here. Nathan also found that fasted cardio seemed to give him better results as opposed to performing cardio after breakfast or after a meal and this is a great tip!
