If I had one Amino Acid to pick….Leucine would be it!
This week I thought I would let you guys know about one of the most important supplements I have in my arsenal during my training both off season and in contest prep. This is Leucine.
I know what you’re all thinking now after copious mince pies and chocolates alongside a big roast turkey, surely the most important supplement is a fat burner!
But no, personally I believe Leucine to be one of the most important supplements anyone can use. One reason I say this is down to the body not being able to produce this itself, it is one of the essential amino acids that has to be obtained through your diet found in various products like meat, dairy, eggs amongst a few other items. It is not only beneficial to help you in your muscle building journey actually encouraging new muscle growth and preventing muscle breakdown also with these cell ‘building’ properties it is great for healing bones and skin. It can be beneficial in helping regulate body sugar levels which is ideal for anyone but specifically this can be very helpful to people who suffer from diabetes. Leucine can help to also aid in the production of good cholesterol too which can be good for the fight against heart disease.
In fact, having touched on weight loss supplements being that time of year everyone wants the health kick, Leucine can aid in burning fat too especially visceral fat which a lot of people consider the worst fat around your organs, it does this by helping to increase the metabolic rate.
As you can see it is one of the best supplements around, and hence why I include it within my diet off season and contest prep.
