Powerlifting with Lou Brierley

Lou has been training hard and preparing for his first powerlifting meet, which took place on 7th December 2013.

For the last 12 months, Bodybuilding Warehouse Ambassador Lou Brierley has trained 3 times a week, every week. He focuses mainly on his lifts with the odd cardio session thrown in and during the last 12 months he has made huge improvements to his strength and added 33lbs of mass!  His lifts have progressively got better, he has become stronger and added reps. Lou works on a progressive overload basis and each session he sets himself a weight or reps target to beat and simply doesn't

powerlifting leave the gym until he has succeeded.

On 7th December Lou competed in squat, bench, deadlift and won in his age and weight class with a respectful 180kg squat, 115kg bench and a 235kg deadlift.

He plans to compete again in January and this is the first video post in a series which will track his progress in the world of power lifting and strong man during 2014.
