Protein Recipes - S'mores Ice cream sandwich

If you want to get creative with your protein, then give one of our protein recipes a go!  Our latest creation is S'mores Ice Cream Sandwich.

S'mores is a popular american portable treat that was traditionally made by toasting layers of Graham crackers, marshmallows, and Hersheys milk chocolate bars over the camp fire! According to folklore these tasty snacks became known as S'mores because everyone who tried them asked for "some more".  The team at the Warehouse are a huge fan of S'mores flavour and as such we decided to get into the kitchen and create a S'mores flavour protein mousse.  Our Premium Protein mousse packs in 32g of high quality protein per serving and contains just 180 lean calories, making it a great anytime snack.

Ingredients   protein recipes

For the ice cream

50grams s'mores protein mousse

250grams fat free Greek yoghurt

250grams quark cheese

2 tbsp sweet freedom low calorie sweetener syrup (can be bought from asda)

For the top and base 

150grams peanut butter

5 low fat digestive biscuits

120grams oats

2 tbsp coconut oil

2 tbsp sweet freedom low calorie syrup


Protein Mousse Ice Cream

For the ice cream

Add all the ingredients listed for the ice cream into a bowl and mix until a smooth paste forms.  Now place your mixture into a bowl and freeze for one hour.

For the top and base

To make the base, blend the biscuits until a flour like texture has formed and then place your mixture into a bowl.  Next, add the oats, peanut butter and sweet freedom syrup to your mixture.  Now its time to add the coconut oil.  As Coconut oil is quite solid, heat it up in the microwave a little, this will make it easier to mix.

Now that all of your ingredients have been added, mix until a dough like texture forms. Next, place your dough onto some baking paper and knead together until your mixture is approx 5mm thick.  Cut the mixture in half to form a top and bottom part.

Next, grab the ice cream that you made earlier and spread it onto one of the oat bases until evenly covered. Place the the top biscuit mixture on top of the ice cream to form your S'mores Ice Cream Sandwich.

Place the whole thing into the freezer for at least 2 hours and then chop into pieces.
