Sweet potato chips recipe
Lee Malone shows you how to mix up your carb intake with this great sweet potato chips recipe.
A fundamental carb source in most peoples diets are sweet potatoes, if you have a spare 5 minutes in the evening try this sweet potato chips recipe to mix things up.I personally prep these after the gym for my dinner and also for the following day then pop them in the oven while I have a shower and get my work and gym stuff ready for the following day.
First up weigh out your sweet potato to your own dietary requirements for the evening of the following day. Then chop the sweet potato into wedges, chips, discs or cubes.
Add the spices and herbs of your choice, my two personal favourites are cayenne pepper and chilli flakes or sea salt, pepper and thyme. I have tried cinnamon on sweet potatoes before and it is surprisingly nice so I suggest you give that a try at some point too. Again mix the sweet potatoes in the bowl so they’re evenly coated in the spices and herbs.
Pop them onto a baking tray and into the oven on 200°C now if you make thin wedges you’ll want to leave them in there for 30-40 minutes, thin chips should take around 30 minutes and discs and cubes should take 20 – 25 minutes. With the wedges I tend to turn them over half way through to ensure they’re cooked evenly. Once they’re in the oven use that time to prep the rest of your food or organise yourself for the following day.
Give these a try and tweet the Bodybuilding Warehouse twitter with your own sweet potato chips and what spices and herbs you used. It’s a great way to mix things up and you can also try sweet potato mash or roast sweet potatoes with your Sunday roast.
