It's Monday, it's the start of a new month and more importantly, today marks the start of the final week of #SummerShred.
Firstly, we just want to congratulate you on making it this far! If your shred has gone well, you will be looking ripped and shredded, you'll be feeling good and you will no doubt be excited to finish and hopefully grab that first prize! If your shred hasn't gone as expected or you're very strict on yourself then you might feel some regret this week. Its easy to look back and say, i wish i had done better or feel bad about events we which have held you back but don't let this stop you from finishing! No matter how much progress you have made, completing the shred is an achievement in itself and some progress is better than non. Use the finish as your final push as it will help you to get back on track and when you hit send on those final pictures, you will feel a great sense of achievement.
Unlike a lot of transformation plans, we don't recommend that you make dramatic changes during this final week. The truth is, if you're not looking completely ripped and shredded by this week, then you aren't going to suddenly rip up in 7 days. However, all is not lost... We recommend that you push on with the training plan from last week as this gives you a decent all over body workout and staying strict with your diet will maximise results. Sadly, there is no magic pill or secret tip that we can offer but there are a couple of things that you can do to maximise those hard earned gains and showcase them to the best of your ability.
Lets start with one of the most talked about tricks, manipulating your water intake.
The most predictable way to see a benefit from manipulating your water intake, is to water load. If done correctly, Water loading can be an effective way to showcase definition as it helps you to reduce water weight for a dry, ripped look. The problem with this trick is that if you cut your intake too low, it can be dangerous and if you get the timing wrong, your muscles look flat, causing you to look worse on the day of your all important pics. Rather than cutting water all together we recommend that you double your water intake from today and then drop it back to your normal level by the day before picture day. The idea is to get your body used to flushing out the excess water so that when you drop it back to normal, your body is still flushing out water at the higher rate. This induces a natural diuretic effect and should help with definition.
The next trick which can assist you in your quest for better muscle definition is tanning up. You don't necessarily need to have a competition tan but darker skin does showcase muscle definition better so a bit of tanning prior to those final pictures should do you some good.
Finally, its worth doing a quick workout prior to those pictures, as ultimately you want your muscles to look pumped and full! Lastly, make sure that we can actually see your gains. It's important to choose shorts that don't cover any leg definition and and for girls, chose a crop top that doesn't hide any back progress.
Ultimately, the most important thing for you to do happens in 7 days time and that is to make sure that you send those final pictures across. If you don't get those pictures in on time then you could miss out on winning a years supply of Protein and pre-workouts and more importantly, you will miss out on the personal gratification that comes with completing a summer shred! By any means necessary, you must finish...
Your final pictures must include a clear front facing, side facing and rear facing shot with a visible newspaper from the same day that your pictures were taken. The competition officially ends on 8th June 2015 and your final images must be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org by 12pm on the 8th June 2015. We recommend that you take your pictures on Sunday night and get them sent across to us nice and early on Monday morning, as any images received after 12pm on 8th June 2015, wont be included in the competition.
Don't forget, you need to show as much muscle definition as possible so shorts for men and shorts and a crop top for women. Please send these pictures, along with your name, location, age and height, along with any weight/measurements to email@example.com
