Speed up your metabolism with these simple tips and watch as your weight loss rate improves!

If you find it hard to lose weight, you may have what's commonly known as a slow metabolism but there are ways in which you can speed up your metabolic rate, to ensure effective weight loss.

What is Metabolism?

Before we look at the ways in which to speed up your metabolic rate,  lets make sure that we understand what your metabolism actually is. The basic definition of "Metabolism" is the process by which your body converts food into energy.  Then you have your Metabolic Rate, which is the rate at which your body burns calories... The metabolic rate is made up of your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and your Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR).  Your BMR is the rate at which your body burns calories and your essential functions, such as breathing and pumping blood around your body. Your RMR accounts for 60 to 75 percent of you daily calorie burn and is used and measured whilst you are awake.

Now that we know exactly what your Metabolic Rate consists of, lets look at some easy ways to speed things up!

The great thing about exercise is that you continue to burn calories after the hard work is done! This is because your body is paying off the oxygen debt from your workout and replenishing your energy reserves (PC and ATP). The more intense your workout is, the better your after burn will be... So get sweating!

Add Muscle

Studies show that regular weight training can increase you RMR in as little as 12
weeks. Therefore, if you are adding muscle you are increasing your metabolic rate over the long term.

Small Regular Meals

Your metabolism gets around a 10% boost after eating, so its a good idea to eat smaller meals but more often. Aiming for around 3 meals and 2 good snacks, around 2 to 3 hours apart.

Eat More Protein

Proteins great for a number reasons, but when it comes to burning fat you will see great benefits.  The body works harder to break protein down, so in turn more fat stores are are burned. Also, protein is the most satisfying nutrient, so it will keep you feeling fuller for longer.

With these tips, you should be able to improve your weight loss rate and  supercharge your metabolism. For those who want to transform their body, take a look at the transformation stack which has everything you need to improve results and click here for an example weight loss plan

    Well, that was disappointing!
Thought I had found the Holy Grail at last.....how to chug up a slow metabolism.
However I am not a 28 year old male who lifts weights 4 times a week!
So, then I thought there would other profiles, but unhappily no.
This profile sounds like my son.....he is toned and fit and doesn't put on an ounce of weight ....whatever he eats. My other son does no exercise and is as slim as a reed.
On the other hand, I am female and overweight and 64. An awful lot of people are!
I don't push weights but I do what I can in the exercise department as far as my arthritic knees will allow. I know this is not a vibrant and sexy profile but how refreshing it would be if it could be addressed!
I cook for 3 other adults so that would need to be factored in....and two are vegetarian, so eating lean chicken is not an option either.
If I may so, you seem to be stuck on a certain customer type ...those who spend half their time at the gym or pounding the streets. Nothing wrong with that but so many other types of people out there....older, less fit, not fit, overweight or even (dare I mention it?) that awful word 'obese'; clinically or otherwise!
That's an awful lot of potential customers....but it does seem that you are totally ignoring them.
